Title: Excessive Spinning
Post by: dweinberg on April 11, 2025, 04:10:57 PM
I'm getting excessive spinning and at times need to abort loading a ripped album and start over. I rebooted the Mac twice with no improvement in the speed to load.

Any suggestions?

Are you recording to an external drive?  Problems with that would cause this.

No, it's all on a Mac.

OK, can you collect some diagnostic information for me please?  That should show me what's holding things up.

Please proceed as follows:

1.  From the Finder menu, select Go -> Utilities.

2.  Launch Activity Monitor.

3.  Get VinylStudio into its frozen state.

4.  In Activity Monitor, select VinylStudio in the list of running processes.

5.  Click on the 'gear wheel' icon in the Activity Monitor toolbar and select 'Sample Process'..

6.  When sampling completes, save the sample to a file and email me that file.

You can send it to p DOT sanders AT alpinesoft DOT co DOT uk

Thanks
