Technical Support / Re: Playback at double speed
Last post by Paul Sanders (AlpineSoft) - September 12, 2024, 06:21:17 PM
Sorry, we do respond to all enquiries, please check your SPAM folder.

Please try the following:

1.  Select 'WASAPI shared event driven' (or, failing that, 'MME / Wave') in the Host dropdown in VinylStudio's Change Playback Device dialog.

2.  Selecting 'WASAPI shared event driven' (or, failing that, MME / Wave) in the Host dropdown in VinylStudio's Check Level dialog.

From your description of the problem, #1 might be enough on its own, so try that first.

I have had the same issue for months now. I've written to tech support but have never received a response.  This is very frustrating and makes using the software 50% useless.  Particularly when trying to split up a live record.  My albums are recorded through Audacity.  This did not happen until a few months ago. Nothing has changed with my PC.

Just discovered a workaround.   Play at 1/8 speed and it sounds just fine.

Hi,

There's a section in the VinylStudio Help file entitled 'Where are my Files Located' (under 'Importing and Exporting Files') that explains this.  Let me know if you need more info.

I am a virgin in the uses of VS, but when I digitize a disk, I note that three empty files appear in addition to the recorded one.  These files have the  labels of WEO,WFS, and WFT.  Can anybody clarify the meaning of these files?  Can they safely be deleted? Are they related to the track labels and/or the artwork? I look forward to y'all helping this octogenarian get smart with VS.

Thanks (Danl)

OK.  Just to say, VinylStudio can record direct from this device if that is more convenient.  Use ASIO and it all 'just works'.

I lusted after a DAC-10R for the past few years but was too cheap to pay the going prices.

Now that they are a bit under $300 brand new, I sprung for one and am absolutely amazed at the sweet sound of DSD.  I wish I could use the built in phono preamp but my cartridge is relatively low output moving coil.

I downloaded a suite of KORG software which includes latest Windoze driver. The reason I mention this is that one of the additional programs is an automated firmware updater for the 10R and another is a recording program named "Audiogate Recording Studio".  I am using that program for archiving tapes and LPs and it works and sounds great. But very simplified, no editing of recordings at all.

Years ago I tried the cheap KORG DAC and had repeating BSOD events with Audiogate, so I gave up on it.
The 10R with recording studio has been perfect so far...

Eventually I will import the recordings into VinylStudio
