Recording Levels

Hello Paul,

I replaced my cartridge a few months ago. Since doing so, I have noticed a reduction in the recording dB levels with VinylStudio. Where before, I would raise the recording level to ~88 which would the right setting without clipping, sometimes the next level (I think 95- I'm not with the computer that has the software...)

I have the turntable back in for service as I've noticed that since the replacement of the cartridge, the tone arm twists slightly :| and the recording level is much lower - never getting above ~50db with the slider set to 100. What is the best illustration showing the output. Is it my "output" attachment.

I'd like to show the tech the before and after charts. Which would be the best? Is it the attached "output" or is there another that will better make the point?

Thanks,

David

Sorry, what is your question?  Different cartridges do have different output levels, and some makers document what it is.
