A way to add more selection to current selection (yellow area)?

If I am zoomed in and select an area, but then I want to extend that selection beyond my current viewport, is there a way to zoom out or scroll over and add more to the selection area?

EDIT: Oh my gosh, can't believe I never noticed the yellow arrows. Just mouse over the edge of the selection and yellow arrows appear.

You can also drag beyond the edge of the viewport and it will scroll across.  Took us a while to get that to work!
